Privacy Policy

Short version: Picky runs entirely on your device and collects nothing.

Last updated: June 11, 2026

Picky does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal data. It has no backend servers, no analytics, and no third-party trackers. Everything the extension does happens locally in your browser.

1. Who this applies to

This policy covers the Picky browser extension ("Picky", "we", "us") and this website. By installing or using Picky, you agree to the practices described here.

2. What Picky does

Picky is a developer tool that inspects and measures elements on web pages you visit. When you toggle it on, it reads the structure and computed styles of the current page so it can show you the box model, typography, colors, contrast ratios, CSS variables, and measurements. This analysis is performed in real time, in your browser, and the results are shown only to you.

3. Information we collect

None that leaves your device. Picky does not collect personally identifiable information, browsing history, page content, form data, keystrokes, or analytics of any kind. We have no servers to send data to.

Local preferences

Picky uses Chrome's storage API to remember small, non-personal preferences — such as the position where you dragged the floating toolbar on a given site. This data is stored locally on your own computer, is never transmitted to us or anyone else, and is removed when you uninstall the extension.

4. Permissions and why Picky asks for them

5. Live edits stay on your machine

When you use Picky to change a value (scrub a number, pick a color, etc.), the change is applied as a temporary inline style in your browser only. It is not saved to the website, not shared, and disappears when you reload the page.

6. Third parties

Picky does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. It does not sell, rent, or share data with anyone — because it does not collect any in the first place.

7. Children's privacy

Picky is a developer tool intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13. It collects no personal information from anyone.

8. Data security

Because Picky stores nothing remotely, there is no remote data to breach. The only data involved — your local preferences — remains on your device under your control and your browser's protections.

9. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and post the new version on this page. Material changes will be reflected before they take effect.
